Have You Been Good This Year?

Funny story....John recently wrapped my Christmas gift & put it under the tree early one morning. The kids & I were still asleep, except for Evan who is usually the first kiddo to wake up with John. Evan saw the gift under the tree & exclaimed, "Santa came!"....John assured him that Santa had not come yet & that the gift was actually for Mom (me). Evan ran up the stairs to wake me up with this conversation....

Evan: "Mom, you have not been a good girl."
Mom: "What?" (still trying to wake up)
Evan: "You have not been a good girl because you yelled at me at Papa's house."
Mom: "Evan, I don't know what the heck you are talking about."
Evan: "There is a present under the tree & you don't get it because you've been bad." "Do I get the present now?"
Mom: "No...that is my present from Dad." (I knew he had planned on wrapping it for me already).
Evan: "But I want it" (totally distraught with alligator tears streaming down his face).
Mom: "I am sure you'll get a present when Santa comes on Christmas."
Evan: "Okay....." "Can I have a drink please?"

It makes me happy to know he could possibly be very happy with just one gift under the tree. The excitement is growing stronger each day & I know they are feeling the joys of the season.
